Trandatum
Trandatum is the celebrated capital for the Land of the Magelings. Resting upon the ancient elfish ruins of Elrenhostem, the City of Rivers, long abandoned place of natural but long forgotten power that the resident mages and wizards have spent the past ten centuries attempting to understand what the Elves knew. Those with a leaning towards magic can feel the undercurrents of the power within the white walls of the city. Four rivers converge on the city and crash into a gorge that runs the length of the city, providing both drinking water and provide borders for the five major districts of the Imperian City: Sh’ehara Palace District, Vendera District, Dorvan Market District, Gillian Artisans District, Fetharan’s District.
- Sh’ehara Tower – Serving as the home for the advisory council of mages, wizards, and other magic users to the Imperian’s ruling family. The tower is made of the purest white marble with lines of dark black granite running vertically on the exterior of the building framing in the balconies to the different offices and libraries within the great tower as it reaches towards the sky. This tower can be seen from anywhere inside the city and from nearly fifty miles in any direction.
- Slave Market – Located southeast of the Sh’ehara Palace District in the Fetharan District. This market is filled with the wails of sorrow of those who know they must face the auction block. The district itself is dingy, with whole blocks within the district filled with buildings with bars built into the first floor for the merchandise to be placed on display. Imperians do not hold any qualms about enslaving their fellow living creatures, their laws are strict and it is not uncommon to find noble rivals swept away into the vast network of slavers and slave markets of the land of Imperia.
- Dorvan Market – The Jewel of Trandatum, mages and non-mages alike come to this market looking for the most incredible items and objects for everything one could desire. The twisting narrow alleys off the main thoroughfares through this district are filled with smells of exotic spices, the hawkers of foods of distant lands and so many colors that it makes the mind dizzy to see them. The world comes to shop at the Dorvan Market and Dorvan Market provides the world to its shoppers.
- Gillian Fountain Square – Within the heart of the Artisan’s district stands a huge fountain that has stood since the Elves walked the streets of Elrenhostem. The nymphs within the fountain stand poised with large jars pouring water forth into a large pond filled with natural lotus and other water flowers creating a natural water feature within the heart of the city of Tradantum. The fountain, being the most recognizable landmark beside the Sh’ehara Tower, is used as a meeting place for lovers, merchants, nobles, and anyone who needs a place to meet.
- Silver Tears Inn – Found in the heart of Vendera District, this inn is a more upscale tavern frequented by the nobles and those with enough coin to throw around on the luxuries provided within its simple dark stained oak and stone walls. Standing four stories high with all rooms the top three floors where all doors face an ornate inner courtyard filled with water features, tables chairs and an open fire pit that sends tendrils of smoke into the open sky above. All those who come to the Silver Tears know it’s owner and proprietor, Resai Omolunt a cheerful and rather rotund mage of little training but a gift for brewing and weaving a good yarn.
