Leveling Up / Ranks Explained:
We here at Solabren set out to create an RPG where less time would be spent on materialistic items and more on writing. In our efforts to do so, we created a very basic system for gaining items / possessions for your character and, ultimately, a system in which more reliance would be placed into the hands of your characters actions and not in picking up goods to create…well…more goods.
In doing all this there were still a few things we found that we could not change, simply to keep some gameplay balanced and to limit other things. We found it necessary to make some items, races, and other key elements of gameplay only available to veteran members, to include our Prestige Races.
Here you will find all you need to know about the Ranking Up system on Solabren. Keep in mind that each ranking tier has three titles available, based on your characters alignment. Titles to the right (Squire, Knight, Paladin, Guardian, Hero) are for Lawful Good, Neutral Good, and Chaotic Good alignments. Titles in the center (Vagabond, Traveler, Adventurer, Reputable, Renown) are for Lawful Neutral, True Neutral, and Chaotic Neutral alignments. Titles on the left (Bandit, Menace, Renegade, Marauder, Villain) are for Lawful Evil, Neutral Evil, and Chaotic Evil characters only.

- Unblooded: All characters start out as Unblooded. It is the basic rank for all new joins.
- Squire / Vagabond / Bandit: The second tier of the ranking system; all characters with at least 250 XP, a COMPLETE and APPROVED Character Bio Submission, and at least 1 complete RP thread should apply below for their corresponding rank.
- Knight / Traveler / Menace: The third tier of the ranking system. In order to qualify, all applying characters must have at least 5 COMPLETE RP threads and 275 XP. Apply below for your corresponding rank.
- Paladin / Adventurer / Renegade: Fourth tier of the ranking system. In order to qualify, all applying characters must have at least 10 COMPLETE RP threads, 300 XP, and should have been roleplaying on Solabren for at least 90 days (three months). Ranking up into this tier grants the player 10 bonus XP OR one FREE Innate Ability. This also unlocks The Pit of Nergael for gameplay for that character! Apply below for your corresponding rank.
- Guardian / Reputable / Marauder: The fifth tier of the ranking system. In order to qualify, all applying characters must have at least 15 COMPLETE RP threads, 3 COMPLETE quests, 350 XP, and should have been a member of Solabren for at least 180 days (6 months). Ranking up into this tier grants the player 15 bonus XP and one FREE Minor Magical Ability OR Basic Epic Item. This also unlocks Prestige Races for gameplay by that player! Apply below for your corresponding rank.
- Hero / Renown / Villian: This is the sixth and, for most players, ultimate tier in the ranking system. In order to quality, all applying characters must have at least 25 COMPLETE RP threads, 10 complete quests / site run saga’s / storylines, 400 XP, and should have been a member of Solabren for a least a year. Ranking up into this tier grants the player 25 bonus XP and one FREE Major Magical Ability or Advanced Epic Item. Apply below for the corresponding rank.
- Timeless: The top of the class, you will never go any higher than the rank of Timeless. There are a number of requirements to be considered for the Timeless rank; 500+ XP, 50 COMPLETE RP threads, 25 COMPLETE quests / storylines / site events, and be a member for over two years. Ranking up into this tier grants the player fame and recognition amongst all PC’s in Solabren, be it as a heroic, villain, or reknown adventurer. It also unlocks one ULTIMATE EPIC ITEM / ULTIATE MAGICAL ABILITY, obtainable only through ranking up as Timeless. The character also gets a constellation named after them. 50 XP bonus for ranking up. All candidate Timeless characters must first be Sixth Tier ranked and will be chosen UNANIMOUSLY by the staff.
