Alric took stock of the young spearman and sighed, "You can always tell the fools by their overconfidence. He says that while walking around in torn up armor even." He grinned wolfishly, "Sorry lad, didn't mean to think out loud there. I'm sure you'll do just fine. I'll see to yer wee beastie should you perrish." He said the last line under his breathe just loud enough to be clearly heard.
"Funny you should menttion that," Alric said with a rueful smile, "I've seen exactly that happen several times." He gave a bow so courtly it wouldn't have been out of place in a kings throne room and proclaimed in a dry tone, "Alric GoldDigger at your service my lady." He straightened and looked her up and down, "It would shame me not to help a beautiful woman in need of assistance." Beaming good naturedly, "Especially with treasure and exploration of interesting sites involved." His eyes twinkled with suppressed mirth, "But mostly because i have nothing better to do."

Canto looked around at the strange bunch of trasure hunters and began following Ligeia. He then raised his hand and said his name with a smile "I'm Canto, nice to meet you all." With his hand still raised he stopped walking and looked up to the sky and realized something. Canto snatched the map out of the mans hand, quickly looked it over, threw it back at the man, and ran for the market."I'll see you around", was all he said as he ran off.

Sancraid blinked slowly several times, staring at the dresari that had simply run off into the distance after taking a quick look at his map without asking. "Well... he's certainly in a hurry, isn't he?" Sancraid asked, chuckling a little. For a large, supposed "fiend", the dresari had been rather quick to leave. Well, more treasure for them, if he didn't show up again later.
"Ha! Thanks, but no thank. I can take care of myself, and so can Cu Sith. As for the drowned corpses, I wouldn't worry too much about those. Getting killed by someone who couldn't even keep living themselves would just be too embarrassing, so I'm sure none of us will go through that fate, eh? I'm Sancraid, mercenary extraordinaire. Also, Alric, you aren't the only one to have seen exactly that in the past." Sancraid replied, introducing himself. Now that the niceties were dealt with, it was time for treasure hunting!

Ligeia paused her steps momentarily as Canto left the group, bringing the little Desari along with him. Awh. I would have liked playing with the little Desari a bit more. She shrugged her shoulders in response to Sancraid's comment; chances were Canto was running late for a date with girl's mother or something utterly mundane like that. At any rate, she was just glad that the Desari had not taken the map with him. Ligeia did not know about the other two, but photographic memory was definitely not one of her strengths.
Looking at Alric and Canto, Ligeia could not help but quip, "Excellent. So now we have an adventurer who chances upon a poor lady bard in need, and then enlists the help of a mercenary. Perfect beginning for a tale to be repeated for centuries; we even have a mascot hound already. Though it would be closer to a standard adventure group if one of us was a mage or an archer." Both men were wearing what looked to be fairly heavy armour, and there were no bows or quivers in sight.
With all the right turns made, accompanied by many a re-look at Sancraid's map, the habour was mere minutes away. Another challenge awaited them there, however.
"No! Ma life depends on tis boat! Ya think I'm gonna just hand it over ta 'yer fer a bit ta gold? By the bowels, no!! Go away!"
Supporting her forehead with a hand, Ligeia sighed. She pretty much already offered everything she was willing to offer, and was still rejected. She itching to just behead the fisherman and get on with it. The only problem being the other two people with her. The mercenary, being a mercenary, would probably turn a blind eye to another suddenly dead man, but about the dwarf Ligeia had no idea. Deciding to test the waters, she sighed and murmured loud enough for them to hear, "Seriously, I really do not want to swim all the way to the breakwaters. So much that I maybe would even kill to prevent that." The second half was said a much lighter tone, but Ligeia's intent was as serious as she could be.

Alric looked over the vessel. It was a small run down fishing barge rather pompously christened The queen of the sea. The queen had long since seen better days, barnacles encrusted a large portion of the hull, the salt stained deck creaked ominously under every movement, the sails had so many patches they resembled quilts and the mast was splinted. He raised an eyebrow at the fisherman's words. The lady had offered nearly twice what the rotting pile was worth and it still wasn't enough for the greedy bastard. He sighed at Ligeia's comment, not missing the veiled threat. "Tell ya what old timer, how about we buy yer dingy instead?" He pointed to a small boat secured at the rear of the ship. It was a small six man row boat of simplistic design, bold lettering proclaiming The lady of the sea.

Sancraid looked at the the boat Ligeia had been attempting to part with and snorted. As he had grown up in a fishing village, and had spent quite a bit of time on the water, he knew a piece of junk when he saw one, but that didn't mean that said piece of junk wasn't important to the old man. Never could know what sort of sentimental value a seemingly worthless object could have for someone. Especially when you were old. Supposedly, memories were all that the old had left.
Besides, compared to the newer dingy, the large boat actually seemed more likely to just fall apart or capsize when they were using it. Best to just do the rowing work and take less risks. "Heh. If we're going to buy the dingy, we should probably get some oars as well." Under his breath, Sancraid murmured at the false Irasan "He's just an old man... let him keep his old boat."

"Wha-" "Ma dingy? Hmm... "
Ligeia had been about to protest, when the elderly fisherman made a noise that resembled consideration. She had been wanted to get something with sails, since it would allow them to save their energy for the diving that awaited them. Frowning a little, Ligeia kept silent and waited for the man speak.
"Twen'teh silva pieces, and 'nother five for the oars!"
Ligeia gripped the strap of her coffin tightly in annoyance; she loathed the process of haggling. For the Judged deciding the prices of items was usually a simple thing. She proposed a number, and if the other party accepted, all was well. If not, she either walked away, or off when someone's head. A simple affair indeed. She restrained the growing urge to kill, and reminded herself of the other two people present. She had companions now; killing off annoying mortals was not an option anymore.
Things were not turning out as she had hoped, and with so many things to consider now that she had companions, Ligeia wondered if meeting this group of travelers had been a boon or a bane. Deciding to leave the problem to those co-source of it, she growled quietly to Alric and Sancraid.
"Don't know about you two gentlemen, but I'm definitely not forking out that much money."
